Connie & Becky. Connie Lehfeldt and Becky in Lynden, Washington. |
Michael and Charles. Michael met Charles while rock climbing in California about 1970. They lost track of each other for many years, but now keep in touch via email.
Visiting with Friends. Becky and Audrey. A good portion of our trip is possible due the hospitality of friends and family along the way. Our trip would be much more difficult, and much less fun, without them. Thanks to everybody we saw along the way!
Resting. Traveling can wear a body out, as our young trekkers discovered.
Charlie, Kate, and Kai. We visited Kai and his parents while in Seattle.
Sheryl and Shay. Shay is Audrey's mom, Michael's cousin, and a really great person.
Becky on the Beach. Becky was thrilled to check out an Oregon beach on a sunny day.
Mother and Son in the Sun. Sheryl and Michael also enjoyed the sunny beach.
New Significance for a Popular Vista. This is probably one of the most often used vantaged points for photographs of the Oregon coastline. To us it has a special significance as the place where our starter quit working.
Coloring in Colorful Surroundings. Becky found time while camping to do a lot of the things she enjoys at home, like coloring.
A Really Big Tree. Michael used this opportunity to show Becky what "really big" means.
An Even Bigger Tree. We found this tree on a short walk through the redwoods. The sign reads: "Big Tree Height 304' Diameter 21.5' "
Dinner After Dark. We always got the trailer parked before nightfall, but the same can't be said for making dinner!
Springtime Flowers. As we continued down the coast, we saw more and more signs of spring.
Becky in the Dirt. Everywhere we went, Becky was always ready to get her hands into the local dirt.
Walt and Ron. Walter Fields and Ron "Injun" Armstrong, two of Michael's high-school buddies in San Francisco Bay area.
Yosemite Falls. This hike convinced Michael that Becky was getting too heavy to carry on longer hikes.

More Yosemite Falls. Even in the spring, the base of Yosemite Falls is a crowded place.
Camping in Yosemite. We liked Yosemite Valley enough to stay an extra day, even though the morning temperatures were still nippy.
Broken Unbreakable Plastic. Sheryl was proud of the hole Michael made in her unbreakable blue bowl. Unbreakable plastic gets brittle when it's cold!
