flowerbox.jpg
Becky checks out the new flower boxes. When Mommy and Daddy built the new deck in the backyard, they had lots of decent planks that they recycled into raised flower beds. I'm just glad that most of May was sunny, since I spent a lot of it in my playpen supervising all this construction.
walkerdeck.jpg
Becky on her new deck. Here I am in my walker on the new deck. It is 20 feet by 25 feet, but since I only scoot backwards in this walker, it still seems too small.
haircutMay.jpg
Becky gets another haircut. How many haircuts must a baby endure? At least Mommy is getting better at this. If only I could learn to hold still...
keyboard.jpg
Becky does some typing of her own. Here I am "helping" Mommy. Notice that we have two keyboards. Mine must be wireless, since there is no cord attached to it (Hmmmm). Mommy types whatever I dictate (like these comments). What a sweet mommy.
globe.jpg
Becky checks out the world map. Daddy brought me by Mommy's school right after her second graders finished painting the oceans blue on a big world map in the covered play area. Her students have to paint it every year, and then they can play geography games on it.
climber.jpg
Becky the climber. Here I am right after Daddy yarded me down from the climbing on the keyboard. Every time they discipline me I just laugh.
airportHelen.jpg
Becky picks up Grandma Helen at the airport. Grandma Helen came to Juneau for my first birthday. We went to the airport to pick her up.
presents.jpg
Becky's first birthday. I don't know what all the hoopla was about. There was lots of food, tablecloths, presents, and even more people. Mommy had to help me open my presents.
cake1.jpg
Becky's first birthday cake. Mommy and Daddy usually don't put this much food on my tray at once. I was very cautious at first, but eventually I concluded that this was food, and helped myself.
cake2.jpg
Becky eating cake. I'm not used to getting this much stuff on my hands either.
cake3.jpg
Becky's first birthday cake. OK. I did a pretty good job of not getting too much cake on my pretty dress,
pattycake.jpg
Becky plays patty cake with Grandma. Grandma Helen loves to play patty cake with me, and it is in my zone of proximal development, so I'm up for it.
thirtyinches.jpg
Becky gets measured. Grandma Helen helps me stand up while Mommy measures my height. I was 30 inches tall on my first birthday.
Well, that's about it for my first year. Lots of other nifty things happened, but we didn't capture them all on camera. Sometimes we took video, and sometimes we just stored the memories in our heads.
